The most amazing days of our life when there was no responsibility of real world but a huge tension of completing homework in a given period of time. The days when teachers and principal were considered as greatest enemies of our life. We used to fight for silly things with our friends. Our fights were either for the lunch or for stationary items like
pencil or sharpener. But such disputes hardly remain for long time and then we again used to become good friends. In those days we hated our School as it was responsible for our busy life. Today when we pass through our school, we keep watching it and start recalling all the fun that we did in those days. Missing the Dark Room,Durga Sir ko Hanuman Chutai,Tikaram Sir ko Pencil la hath chapai ,Yesh Ghatana Baw,Bura,Buri Game etc.Wish I can live that day again

SS“Woods are lovely dark and deep, but I have promises to keep. Miles to go before I Sleep”. This line by Robert Frost touches my heart and I am always excited for an adventure trip. So we friends decided to conquer the highest peak of West Bengal located at the heart of Himalayas. Climbing up to the pinnacle of Darjeeling SANDAKPHU DARJEELING was not an easy task. We set our mind to reach the peak by hook or by crook. Before starting our trek we checked the weather forecasts and the routes. Finally, the date was fixed and out of my love for dramatic names, we name d the trek as “MISSION SANDAKPHU HIGEST PEAK OF WESTBENGAL”. We made our base camp in Darjeeling for the first day and decided to track from Manebhanjyang the next morning. The level of excitement within everyone was soaring up towards its threshold. When we reach Manebhanjyang, I first notice the Landrover Car which is rare in this region, and we had our breakfast there and went to nearby forest check post to gather information about Sandakphu ,there have to take a pass from the regional authority of forest because of the route to SANDAKPHU cover s the SANGILILA NATIONAL PARK after completing the formalities we start tracking towards Sandakphu, the temperature at Manebhanjyang at that time was around 4 degrees celc,it was freezing cold though we have not experienced such cold here I Siliguri , We start our journey from Manebhanjyang early in the morning we boost our speed start climbing the hills ,with the dense forest surrounded by the pine tree ,suddenly after boosting up the speed we starting realizing that we are working against the gravity so it’s very difficult to reach our destiny with the same speed and we slow our speed and start tracking with the dense forest enjoying the scenic beauty of nature . Everyone was excited to see the snow after walking about 10 km away from Manebhanjyang we all were thirsty we look our waterbottle we all were surprised to see that the water carried in water bottle was freeze and that time we realize that our destiny is not so far, we start tracking through the Indo Nepal border ,we enter the Ilam district of Nepal . At that time we realized that we have achieved something in our life we feel proud that we begin our journey from India and we reach Nepal, We decided to halt at Tanglu, we stay in one of the lodges in Nepal at taglu . It was our first night at such a cold place. Although it was freezing cold there, we soon slept as we were all tired due to a day’s walk. The next morning was a lovely one. The whole ground was covered with white frost, and sunshine made it look even more beautiful. That was the time to perceive the beauty of our surrounding without internet and gadgets by actually experiencing it,. That made us realize what we were missing in crowded cities. We chatted with locals and SSB personals, they were all friendly. After our breakfast at about 8:30 in the morning we started off for our destination. It was our third day since we left from home the first part of the route was steep one with the dense forest. We were told about the dangers of a bear being found there. Though we found none, we were actually afraid. After trekking for about 2 hours we reached Kalpokhari. The water of the lake was all frozen, though small it was a beautiful lake. We also got the first glimpse of the peak from here. There we had some food and special meat of yak only found in this region. Our destiny is not so far with great enthusiasm and excitement mood we again boost up our speed seeing the milestone SANDAKPHU 5km everyone was tired but the excitement to reach our destiny made us forget the tiredness and keep ourselves moving the zig-zag tracking route.Passing through the Indo-Nepal surrounded by the Chap and Gurash (Flower that is only found in this region) .on our way we found some frozen streams, gossiping with each other how people survive here ,we was about to reach SANDAKPHU we see the range of mountain that realize our destiny is not so far ,when we saw the Milestone SANDAKPHU 0 km we glad that we conquer the highest peak but nothing was there, Again after 5 min of walk we see some hut and guest houses and we feel like we were in heaven, covered with white layer of snow freezing cold wind speed was almost 35 km per hour, and we realize that is the precious gift that the nature gives us . We all were eagerly waiting for the morning sunshine, in the view of morning sunshine was the best part of the trip golden color of ray touches the ground. So I was an unexpected piece of luck that I had in my life I personally suggest once visit SANDAKPHU in your life for More information visit travel2hills.com |
